When you reach the age of 50, we encourage you
to make an appointment for a free screening mammogram with BreastScreen
NSW. This involves looking for the early signs of breast cancer
on a set of breast x-rays. BreastScreen NSW has been given permission
by the State Electoral Commissioner to use the Electoral Roll to
access your name and address for the purpose of invitation to the
BreastScreen NSW Screening Program.
As a result, you may receive an invitation from BreastScreen NSW
to have a free screening mammogram at a screening service, which
will either be at a hospital or community-based facility or on a
mobile van.
The invitation will also include information about the preparations
you will need to make to have a mammogram.
For any further questions about breast cancer and the screening
process, please refer to the Frequently
Asked Questions section.
